1874 Training Center for Elementary School Teachers was established

1920 Tottori Advanced Agricultural School was established
1921 Tottori Prefectural Training Center for Male Teachers of Supplementary Vocational School was established

1949 Tottori University was established by Tottori Teacher Training Institute, Tottori Young Men's Teacher Training Institute, Tottori Professional School of Agriculture and Forestry, Yonago Professional School of Medicine and Yonago Medical College, resulting in three departments (Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Agriculture) and University Library

25-Aug-1950 Faculty of Arts and Sciences moved from 137, Higashi-machi to 1,5-chome, Tachikawa-cho (the former site of 47th Military Unit).
20-Aug-1952 Administration Bureau and Student Welfare Section Moved from 137, Higashi-machi to 1,5-chome, Tachikawa-cho (the former site of 47th Military Unit).
15-Aug-1966 Administration Bureau, Student Affairs Dept., Faculty of Education, Faculty of Engineering, University Library (5-1, Tachikawa-cho) and Faculty of Agriculture (Yoshikata) put together on the Koyama Campus (1-1, Koyama-cho).
1-Sep-1977 Tottori University's address changed from 1-1, Koyama-cho, to 101, Minami 4-chome, Koyama-cho.
22-Aug-1985 Affiliated Elementary and Secondary School moved from 101, Shotoku-cho to 101, Minami 4-chome, Koyama-cho.
