Gateway Japan Study Tour

Opening Address by Prof. Yasunobu, Vice-President

 On 11th of April 2017, the opening ceremony of the Gateway Japan Study Tour was held at Tottori University for the fourth time. Fifteen students from the University of Adelaide, Australia who specialize in Environmental Policy, International Development and Linguistics attended this program.

 Prof. Kumi Yasunobu, Vice-President (Promotion of International Exchange) and the Director of Center for International Exchange gave a welcome address in which she expressed hope the participants from Australia would get tips on sustainable society through interaction with Tottori University students and activities of the program.

 After that, participants introduced themselves by saying that “I’d like to enjoy Japanese Food” and “I’d like to learn environmental science and to improve Japanese language”.

 This program is being held for 9 days until 19th of April 2017, and participants will visit not only the Tottori University but also the prefectural government, Hino-cho, Mitokusan-Sanbutsuji temple, San’in Kaigan UNESCO Global Geopark, Shimane Nuclear Power Station, and so on. They will interact with local people in Tottori and will learn Japanese traditional culture, existence of sustainable society and so on.
