農学部附属動物医療センターは、昭和28年に獣医学の臨床教育、研究に 資する目的で設置し、以来その目的に沿って種々の貢献を行ってきました。昭和41年に鳥取大学総合移転に伴い、現在地に新しく設置し、社会の要請に応じるために新規施設やMRI装置、CT装置、超音波診断装置などの新しい設備を導入して、最新の動物医療を行っています。 The Veterinary Medical Center was originally founded in 1953 to enhance medical clinic and medical research of veterinary, which has made many kinds of outcome along with its objects. It was relocated with the integration and transfer of Tottori University in 1966. It has introduced new apparatus to meet the latest needs in medical care for animals, adapting such a cutting-edge technology as magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography and ultrasound examination. 最近、BSE、SARS、高病原性鳥インフルエンザなどの人獣共通感染症が 出現して大きな社会問題になっています。 本センターは農学部に平成17年4月に、鳥インフルエンザ等の鳥類から人に感染する感染病への対策を確立する目的で設置しました。鳥インフルエンザについては、国内での出現予測、病原体の生態、病原性、遺伝子性状の解析等を行い、新たな流行防止対策の確立を図り、国内危機管理体制確立に寄与することを目的としています。その他、サルモネラあるいはウエストナイルウイルス 感染症などの対策に国際的な規模で取り組んでいます。 Emerging incidences of infectious disease that can be transmitted from animals or animal products to humans, i.e. zoonosis, such as bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), and highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) are currently issues of great concern from public health perspective. The Avian Zoonosis Research Center was founded in April 2005 to establish countermeasures for infectious disease that can be transmitted from birds to humans. We have mainly investigated the epizootiological aspects of HPAI to control and prevent the reoccurrence of this disease in Japan.
