Orientation for students from overseas has been held online.

　Totally 13 new students from overseas participated in an orientation held for them at our International Exchange Center on October 7. Even though the orientation was conventionally held face-to-face every year, it was held this year by connecting our university with a hotel they were staying during an waiting period for two weeks imposed as a frontline measure against the new coronavirus outbreak.

　At first, Prof. Kumi Yasunobu, Director of Center for International Affairs, delivered an address of welcome for them saying, "It is delightful for us that you have arrived in Japan. We would like to ask you to learn not only research subjects but also Japanese language and culture as well as to make many friends."

　Subsequently, teaching staff members were introduced to them and they were explained about information required for living in Tottori and school life after being divided into Japanese and English language groups. It is scheduled to organize an evacuation drill assuming a fire at International Exchange building used as a dormitory for students from overseas and a placement guidance for them in November when all of them arrived in Tottori.
