Education and Research Purposes of the Faculty of Regional Sciences

The Faculty of Regional Sciences conducts education and research concerning regional public issues from the four standpoints of the environment, culture, education and policy, and aims to develop key individuals who can take a leading role in the effort toward sustainable regional development. The education and research purposes of each department are as follows:

Department of Regional Policy

The Department conducts education and research concerning the elucidation of regional policy issues and the theories of regional development and aims to develop key individuals in regional policy who have the comprehensive perspective required to build a region full of individuality and vitality.

Department of Regional Education

The Departments conducts education and research concerning basic studies on how learning support, developmental support and developmental welfare can be provided to solve regional educational issues and aims to develop key individuals who lead the effort to develop effective human resources required for each region.

Department of Regional Culture

In an effort to realize a mentally-rich life for each individual in the local community, the Department conducts education and research on the realities and formation of regional culture, regional cultural exchanges and cultural policy and aims to develop key individuals who are capable of designing and enriching regional culture.

Department of Regional Environment

Toward the construction of a regional society where people can live in harmony with nature, the Department conducts education and research concerning the investigation of the realities of the regional environment and the development of regional resources. It aims to develop key individuals who take a leading role in the creation of favorable regional environment.
